Nathan Fletcher is supervisor for the 4th District of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. During his time as a California State Assemblymember, Nathan passed more than 30 laws to expand healthcare coverage, protect homeowners during the foreclosure crisis, strengthen public safety, and increase support services for veterans and the homeless. He authored Chelsea’s Law, which strengthened penalties for violent crimes against children. Previously, Nathan served as a Counterintelligence/Human Intelligence Specialist in the Marine Corps and served two combat tours. He went on to found the Three Wise Men Veterans Foundation to eliminate stigma around Post-Traumatic Stress and launched the ‘Honorably Discharged, Dishonorably Deported’ campaign, spotlighting the unjust deportation of veterans and successfully bringing home deported veterans. Nathan is also a Professor at UCSD, teaching political science, public service, California Government, and American History. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from California Baptist University. Nathan is a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Civil Society Fellowship, A Partnership of ADL and The Aspen Institute, and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
