Marc Rowan

Co-Founder, Apollo Global Management

Marc Rowan is a co-founder and Senior Managing Director of Apollo Global Management, LLC, a leading alternative asset manager focused on contrarian and value oriented investments across private equity, credit-oriented capital markets, insurance and real estate.

 

Marc currently serves on the boards of directors of Apollo Global Management, LLC, Athene Holding Ltd., Athora Holding Ltd., and Venerable Holdings. He has previously served on the boards of directors of the general partner of AP Alternative Assets, L.P., AMC Entertainment, Inc., Beats Music, CableCom Gmbh., Cannondale Bicycle Corp., Caesars Entertainment Corp., Countrywide PLC, Culligan Water Technologies, Inc., Furniture Brands International, Mobile Satellite Ventures, National Cinemedia, Inc., National

Financial Partners, Inc., New York City Police Foundation, New World Communications, Inc., Norwegian Cruise Lines, Quality Distribution, Inc., Samsonite Corporation, SkyTerra Communications, Inc., Unity Media SCA, Vail Resorts, Inc. and Wyndham International, Inc. Marc also serves on the boards of several technology-oriented venture companies. 

 

In addition, Marc is Chairman of the Board of Overseers of The Wharton School and a member of the University of Pennsylvania’s Board of Trustees.  An active philanthropist, Marc is a founding member and Chairman of Darca, Israel’s #1 educational network operating 33 schools with over 16,000 students in diverse, lower income communities.  He serves on the board of Jerusalem U, a non-profit producing Israel-centric educational films and materials.  Marc is also actively involved in public policy.

 

He is co-founder and co-creator of the Penn Wharton Public Policy Initiative (WPPI), a center for public policy research that fosters better-informed policymaking on issues related to business and the economy by providing online, open source, non-partisan budget and policy analysis, including the Penn Wharton Budget Model, a research-based initiative that uses interactive budget tools to work directly with policymakers to provide an accurate, accessible and transparent economic analysis of public policy’s fiscal impact.

 

Marc graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business with a BS and an MBA in Finance.
