The On Being Project
Lucas Johnson’s role as executive director of Civil Conversations & Social Healing at Krista Tippett’s On Being Project was created specifically for him. He was a leader in the U.S. community of the International Fellowship of Reconciliation (IFOR), the world’s oldest interfaith peace organization, for 6 years. From 2014 until he joined the On Being Project in 2018, he served as General Secretary of IFOR’s global operation. In his time there, he incubated a Beloved Communities Project in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, and helped to create an Ethics of Reciprocity initiative with the United Nations. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of Waging Nonviolence; the Advisory Board for the Dorothy Cotton Institute; past board commitments include the Fellowship of Reconciliation, International Fellowship of Reconciliation, and Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America. Lucas is a Fellow of the third class of the Civil Society Fellowship, a Partnership of ADL and The Aspen Institute, and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
