Matt Jones is the creator and host of Kentucky Sports Radio (KSR) Show. Starting in 2005 as an internet blog and part-time hobby, the Louisville-based show is now the highest-rated local sports radio show in America, combining Kentucky sports with pop culture, current events, and politics. Growing up in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky, Matt uses his relationship-building skills, personality, and humor to bring people of varying political ideologies and backgrounds together, uniting around sports. He is also the host of ESPN’s “NFL Countdown to Kickoff” show. Matt is the author of New York Times bestseller, Mitch Please! How Mitch McConnell Sold Out Kentucky (and America, Too), a memoir of Matt’s travels through all 120 counties of Kentucky in critique of Mitch McConnell’s long stint as U.S. Senator. Matt journeys through Kentucky, analyzing issues across the state, in both rural and urban communities, to highlight the effects of a forgotten state and people. Matt also co-founded the New Kentucky Project, a nonprofit that unites young, elected leaders and others interested in public service from across Kentucky and the political spectrum. Matt practiced law for two Kentucky-based firms and served under three different Kentucky judges. He is co-owner of both KSBar and Grille and Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), a Louisville-based independent professional wrestling league. Matt is a Fellow of the fourth class of the Civil Society Fellowship, a Partnership of ADL and The Aspen Institute, and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
