Jason Esteves serves as Georgia State Senator for District 6, representing northwest Atlanta. Jason’s platform focuses on issues impacting public education, healthcare, housing, and economic opportunity. He is a partner at the law firm Hudson Cook LLP, where he advises clients on regulatory, litigation and data security matters. Previously, Jason was the vice president of legal for Equifax Inc. as well as their assistant general counsel from 2014-2019. Jason also served as an associate attorney with McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP (now Dentons US LLP) following his graduation from Emory University School of Law. He is a former at-large representative and board chair of the Atlanta Public Schools (APS) Board of Education. In 2013, Jason became the first Latino elected to a school board in Georgia. Under Jason’s leadership, APS attained its highest graduation rate to date, provided over $100 million in staff pay increases and stipends, and increased APS’s fund balance to its highest levels while providing more money directly to school sites. Jason was named one of Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 50 Most Influential Latinos and is an Atlanta Business League’s Men of Influence Honoree. Serving now as treasurer of the Democratic Party of Georgia, Jason also sits on several local nonprofit boards including the Children's Museum of Atlanta. Outside of his professional and community involvement, Jason and his wife are small business owners and the proud parents of two children: Jaeden and Zoe. Jason is a Fellow of the fourth class of the Civil Society Fellowship, a Partnership of ADL and The Aspen Institute, and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
