Bobby Morgan is the vice president of public affairs for the Mississippi division of Atmos Energy Corporation, the nation’s largest fully regulated, natural gas-only distributor of safe, clean, efficient, and affordable energy. Leading the public affairs team in Mississippi, Bobby manages all external affairs including political affairs, philanthropy, and communications. He previously served as the senior economic development policy advisor and state senate liaison for Governor Phil Bryant as well as the Governor’s designee for the Southern States Energy Board, the Appalachian Regional Commission, and the Delta Regional Authority. Prior to the governor’s office, Bobby served as communications director for the Mississippi Republican Party. His career began in Washington, D.C. where he worked for various legislators and lobbying groups. Bobby is a third-generation Mississippian. He was born on Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi. He left Mississippi at age six, moving to Italy for four years, and then to Turkey for three years, before his parents retired to the Florida panhandle. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in English from the University of Mississippi. Bobby serves as a Governor appointee to the State Workforce Investment Board and on the Vestry at St. Andrews Episcopal Cathedral in Jackson. Currently, Bobby is an Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Bobby is a Fellow of the fourth class of the Civil Society Fellowship, a Partnership of ADL and The Aspen Institute, and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
