Laura Beth “LB” Prevette is the Community Partnerships Manager for Lead for America, an organization that exists to ensure that the nation's most dynamic and diverse leaders are working on our communities' toughest challenges. LB is a passionate community advocate, organizer, and storyteller. LB returned to her Appalachian home and began working to create meaningful change by breaking down social barriers and creating a sense of community. LB's work with Forward Wilkes, an organization that works to create safe and inclusive events, particularly focused on serving minority and LGBTQ+ youth in Appalachia, has been profiled by NPR, David Brooks of The New York Times, and A Day of Unreasonable Conversation, the inaugural gathering by Propper Daley that connects content creators with leading changemakers to unlock progress through the power of stories. An aggressive friend and doting dog mom, LB is a participant in Weave: The Social Fabric Initiative, she is a graduate of the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Institute and a Fellow of the Civil Society Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
