Aviva Nassimi is the community development manager of the TED Translators program at TED Conferences, managing a breakthrough initiative that brings TED Talks to billions of non-English-speakers. Aviva is a storyteller and writer creating experiences and content that connect people and build community worldwide. She has helped grow the program into one of the largest crowdsourced projects in the world, now working with over 30,000 volunteers, across 160 countries. Prior to TED, Aviva supported fellow students as a Teaching Assistant, a Resident Advisor and Speaking Fellow, coaching students on public speaking and classroom debate skills. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Psychology from Barnard College at Columbia University and was the recipient of the Frank Gilbert Bryson Prize—given to the senior who has given conspicuous evidence of unselfishness and made the greatest contribution to Barnard. Aviva is a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Civil Society Fellowship, A Partnership of ADL and The Aspen Institute, and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
